Families to Learn About the Local Water System

Bringing families together to learn about the local water systemCal Water's Selma District held a Water Awareness Festival at Lincoln Park Plaza on Wednesday, where more than 300 residents came to learn about their water system and enjoy time with their fellow community members.

At the festival, attendees interacted with representatives from the utility's engineering, water quality, customer service, operations, and conservation departments. They also enjoyed watching performances by the Selma High School Folklorico Dancers, eating tacos from Lola's Tacos, cooling off with shave ice from Kona Ice, getting their faces painted, and interacting with the Selma Fire and Police Departments.

"May is Water Awareness Month, so every year at this time, we host the festival to get to know our customers better and answer any questions they may have about the local water system in a family-friendly atmosphere," said Local Manager Steve Johnson. "It is a great opportunity to showcase how our experts never stop working to ensure that the water we provide to our customers is reliable and high-quality, and that we are here to improve the quality of life in the community we serve."
