In the Lindenwood and Menlo Oaks neighborhoods of Menlo Park, crews will install 2,680 feet of 12-inch ductile-iron water main and 3,385 feet of 8-inch PVC water main. The project, which is expected to be completed in September, also includes the installation of 58 new 2-inch service connections and 14 new fire hydrants. Installation will take place on Edge Road, from Oak Grove Avenue to Ringwood Avenue, and continue along Ringwood Avenue and Coleman Avenue.

Additionally, crews will install 150 feet of new 6-inch PVC water main in the cul-de-sac of Hillview Place, off of Hillview Drive. The project, which is expected to take about one week, also includes the installation of two services connections and one hydrant.
"These water infrastructure improvement projects are important steps to protect against leaks and to ensure a safe and reliable water supply for Menlo Park customers, both now and for decades to come. The new fire hydrants also make sure firefighters have the water they need to protect our community during an emergency," said District Manager Dawn Smithson. "These investments in our water system are part of our commitment to providing quality, service, and value to Menlo Park customers and businesses."

Work on both projects will be performed Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Crews will make every effort to minimize traffic delays during construction. When the projects are completed, all streets, sod, and landscaping impacted by the construction will be restored to as close to the previous condition as possible.

Following installation, water service will be temporarily interrupted while individual services are connected to the new water mains. Residents will be notified in advance of planned shutdowns, which are normally scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
