Comienza la instalación de una tubería principal de una milla de largo en San Mateo

The project, which is expected to take about seven months to complete, includes the installation of 5,700 feet of new 12-inch ductile iron water main and new individual customer service connections. Construction will take place on Parrott Drive, from Laurie Lane to Los Altos Drive. Crews will also install 10 new fire hydrants as part of the project.

"This important infrastructure improvement project will enable us to continue to deliver a reliable supply of safe, high-quality drinking water to our customers and help first responders protect the community in the event of an emergency. Additionally, replacing the existing, aging water main will better protect the surrounding environment by helping to prevent water main breaks and any potential, unplanned water discharge," said District Manager Ross Moilan. "Proactive upgrades such as this are part of our promise to deliver quality, service, and value to our San Mateo customers, and we appreciate residents' patience during this water system improvement project."

Crews will make every effort to minimize traffic delays and to ensure that residents in the immediate vicinity have access to their homes during construction. The work will be performed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Some night and weekend work may be required to ensure crews can finish the project on schedule.

Following installation, Cal Water will conduct water quality testing and connect individual service lines to the new water main. Crews will also restore all streets, sod, and landscaping impacted by the construction.
