Comienza un nuevo proyecto de instalación de tubería principal de agua en Visalia

The project, expected to be completed in April, includes the installation of 3,600 feet of new 6-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch PVC and ductile iron water main and 40 new individual customer service connections. Crews will also install five new fire hydrants as part of the project. Construction will take place on East Walnut Avenue, from South Cotta Street to South Pinkham Street, South Cain Street, from East Walnut Avenue to East Laura Avenue, and South Tracy Court, from East Walnut Avenue to the end of the cul-de-sac.

"This proactive upgrade of Cal Water's infrastructure in Visalia is part of our promise to deliver quality, service, and value to area residents and businesses, both now and for decades to come," said District Manager Tammy Kelly. "This important infrastructure project will enable us to continue to deliver a reliable supply of safe, high-quality drinking water to our customers. Additionally, it will help first responders protect the community in the event of an emergency."

Crews will make every effort to minimize traffic delays and to ensure that residents in the immediate vicinity have access to their homes during construction, which will be performed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Following installation, crews will conduct water quality testing and connect individual customer service lines to the new water main. Water service must be temporarily interrupted for one to two days as crews connect customers' service lines to the main. Cal Water will notify residents in advance of any planned shutdowns, which are normally scheduled between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Crews will also restore all streets, sod, and landscaping impacted by the construction.
