Salinas storage tank interiorEn estos tiempos de incertidumbre, Cal Water continúa renovando la infraestructura crítica para garantizar que las comunidades tengan el agua que necesitan para mantenerse saludables, ahora y en el futuro. The utility's Salinas District has completed a water infrastructure upgrade that will strengthen water system reliability for customers' everyday needs and firefighters' emergency needs.

The project, which began in December, included a specialized cleaning, painting, and recoating of Cal Water's largest storage tank in the region, which will extend the life of the 3-million-gallon tank on Natividad Road. New security features and site equipment were also installed as part of the project.

"This important infrastructure upgrade will enable us to continue to deliver a reliable supply of safe, high-quality drinking water to Salinas residents and businesses for their drinking, cooking, handwashing, and other household needs, both now and for many years to come. Additionally, it will help first responders continue to protect the community in an emergency," said District Manager Brenda Granillo. "Proactive upgrades such as this are a critical part of our promise to deliver quality, service, and value to our customers."

At the completion of the project, crews conducted water quality testing before putting the tank back into service.
