Cal Water ha iniciado un proyecto de mejora de la infraestructura en el distrito de Bear Gulch que mejorará la confiabilidad del sistema y la protección contra incendios de emergencia para los residentes y negocios de Redwood City.
Crews will install approximately 1,950 feet of new 8-inch PVC water main on Warrington Avenue, from Fair Oaks Avenue to Northside Avenue in Redwood City. PVC generally does not rust or corrode and is considered to be more cost-effective than other alternatives. The new pipes are long-lasting and will be able to reliably serve the area for decades to come.
"Investing in the water system infrastructure ensures that our community will continue to have safe, reliable, and high-quality water service, both for our customers' everyday needs and for our firefighters and other first responders in emergencies," said District Manager Dawn Smithson. "This upgrade is just part of our promise to provide quality, service, and value to our customers and communities."
Installation of the new water main will take place Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and is expected to take approximately eight weeks to complete. Customers will be notified prior to any planned, temporary shutdowns to connect individual service lines to the new main. Additionally, any impacted streets and landscaping will be restored to as close to the previous condition as possible.
