The project, which is expected to be completed in August, includes the installation of 1,540 feet of new 8-inch PVC water main and 22 new 1-inch service connections. Crews will also install two new fire hydrants.

"Infrastructure improvements such as this are key to fulfilling our promise to deliver quality, service, and value to our customers," said Local Manager Marc Bloom. "This upgrade will help protect against leaks and ensure safe and reliable water service for King City residents for years to come. Firefighters will also benefit from improved water access, which will enhance their ability to protect the community in the event of an emergency."

The project is taking place on Talbot Street, from Canal Street to South Mildred Avenue; South Mildred Avenue, from Bassett Street to Luckett Street; and Luckett Street, from South Mildred Avenue to South San Lorenzo Avenue. At the completion of the project, crews will restore all impacted streets, sod, and landscaping.

Crews are making every effort to minimize traffic delays during construction, which is being performed Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Following installation, Cal Water will conduct water quality testing before individual water services are connected to the new water main. Residents will be notified in advance of any planned shutdowns, which are normally scheduled between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., needed to connect their individual services to the new main.
