Voight Takes Reins from Jack Caldwell, Retiring Longtime Manager
Cal Water has selected Benjamin (Ben) Voight to lead its Dixon and Travis Air Force Base districts as the new Local Manager. Jack Caldwell, who served as the Dixon Local Manager from 2005 to 2020 and Travis Air Force Base Local Manager since 2020, is set to retire April 29, 2022.
Voight began his career with Cal Water in 2009 in the utility's Bayshore District, which serves San Carlos, San Mateo, and South San Francisco. He previously served as a Meter Reader, Leak Truck Foreman, General Foreman, and Superintendent and has extensive knowledge of all facets of water system operations. Voight has served as the Dixon District's Interim Local Manager since returning from a three-year hiatus in 2020.
"Ben's strong technical background and hands-on operations experience will serve the residents and businesses of our Dixon and Travis service areas well into the future," said Cal Water Director of Operations Dan Armendariz. "He will ensure that Cal Water continues to provide the quality, service, and value our customers expect and deserve, both for their everyday and emergency needs."
Voight has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbra, and holds Distribution Grade Four and Water Treatment Grade Three certifications from the American Water Works Association.
"Jack leaves behind a strong legacy of service, and we are grateful for his dedication over the past 23 years to providing our Dixon customers with safe, clean water and to making this community a better place to live," said Armendariz. "We wish him well during his retirement and know that he will continue to do great things for the people of Dixon."
