Cal Water comienza la renovación de infraestructura en Oroville

Cal Water comenzará a trabajar en una renovación de la infraestructura de agua este mes que mejorará la confiabilidad del suministro de agua y la protección contra incendios en el centro de Oroville.

The project will replace more than 3,000 feet of aging water main on Pine Street from Montgomery Street to Mitchell Avenue.

"Replacing aging pipes and maintaining our system reduces risks of leaks, main breaks, and water quality issues," said Loni Lind, Oroville Local Manager. "This improves system reliability, decreases water loss, and helps Cal Water continue providing safe, clean, reliable water to homes and businesses in Oroville."

Construction will be performed Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The main replacement is expected to be completed in May.

“We will make every effort to minimize traffic delays during construction, and we will notify customers in advance of any temporary water service interruptions,” said Lind, noting that customers can visit myaccount.calwater.com to confirm that their contact information is up to date, along with their preferences on how they would like to be notified.

The project is part of Cal Water's efforts to continually modernize and upgrade its water system to better serve customers. Last year, Cal Water also completed work on the first phase of constructing a new drinking water well that will help meet peak water demands for the next 50-75 years in Oroville. There is a planned delay between the two phases to accommodate planning and permitting, and Cal Water will provide updates to the community on the schedule for completion. The second phase will include construction of distribution pipes and a new pump house, along with installation of fencing and landscaping. Crews will also help improve the curb appeal of this property by landscaping with low-water-use plants, paving, and gravel to eliminate weeds.
